About L. Wakeling

Pivoting from contemporary art, filmmaking, and design, L. Wakeling found new inspiration on the central Oregon coast in 2020, turning to a new medium. Inspired by the craftsmanship and philosophy of William Morris and Barbara Hepworth, Wakeling embraces organic structures, a pure appreciation for line and curve, and the natural elements of the earth. Metallurgy, a craft steeped in history, draws from raw materials, traditional design, and the earth’s elemental offerings—a tradition Wakeling carries forward in sculpture, and metalwork.
